MNVBCA Jeff Groves Outstanding Assistant Coach Award
Considering the importance and dedication of assistant volleyball coaches, it was determined by the MNVBCA Board of Control that their recognition should be highlighted on a broader scale than one assistant coach of the year in various sections. This award may be given by any number of volleyball programs that deem the recipient worthy of special recognition.
Head coaches will now be allowed to honor an assistant coach at any level in their volleyball program under the following guidelines:

- Any varsity assistant coach or a coach at any level from 9th grade through varsity is eligible for recognition.
- The head coach or the nominated assistant coach must be a member of the MNVBCA.
- There are no qualifying guidelines beyond the recommendation that this award be given to those coaches who deserve special recognition for their dedication and service. The recognition is exclusively determined by the head coach, but (s)he must explain her/his rationale for recognizing the coach thoughtfully on the application.
- The school's Activities Director must also approve the nomination.
- An individual may receive this award once every three years.
- In order to highlight the exceptional nature and importance of assistant coaches, only one individual per year per school may receive this award.
- The nominating coach will have access to an editable certificate (link below) to provide the recognized coach.
- The recognized coaches will be listed on the MNVBCA website.
- The MNVBCA Board of Control reserves the right to deny a nomination.
